As Don Martin points out in his National Post column today, Paul (“we lead the world”) Martin’s “I’m mad as Hell” election campaign in 2004 promised that among other things, he’d end the democratic deficit. He probably added, “for a generation”, or, “and Canada will lead the world…”, or “let’s be clear…”.
He was so adamant, he invested untold millions of dollars of your taxpayer cash to create another fancy government web site, in order to clue us in on his ongoing progress in his “let’s be clear” democratic reforms package for Canada, which was all ostensibly designed to save us from becoming even more of a banana republic.
Today, that web site yields this rather bleak result, on the eve of Stephen Harper’s proclamation to end the Liberal reign of terror over Canada:
And it says everything we need to know about Liberals and their lies and dishonesty and untrustworthiness.
Even without this evidence, as we all know by now, the “Team Martin’s” promises of democratic reform had the exact opposite effect in actual fact. They were nothing more than yet another promise designed to sucker you, Canadians, whom he and the Liberal Party obviously so utterly disrespect, into buying into more liberal-left bunk. Which most of you did.
Charming, isn’t it?
