Shocking news for liberals and their CBC: immigrants don’t like hockey. What to do?

image Imagine the conundrum.  The liberals’ CBC division totally relies on hockey to get into the Top-30 and to therefore totally justify their more than billion dollar per year taxpayer subsidy and existence (“Little Mosque on the Prairie” didn’t do the trick, not that they’ll cancel it, citing all the multiculti learning we’re getting as proof of value, begging the question).

And the liberal-left totally rely on immigrants — actually both immigrants and their CBC division — for election-time support, which is why they have mollycoddled them (both), and demand we get more (of both), and they demand more government funding (of both).

So what’s a liberal-lefty to do?!  And the CBC division?  Will they all become anti-immigrant and “traditional” in order to aid in the survival of their politics and their media organ?

Well it could go a couple of different ways.  Either the liberals will propose to create a new universal government social (and “early learning” —wink!) program to socially-engineer immigrants to love—or at least think it’s cool to love—hockey, starting at an early age.  The CBC may be seconded by its government owners to create another new official state TV entertainment/comedy (and “early learning”  —wink!) show, using taxpayer dollars of course, called “Little Hindi Plays Hockey”, or possibly “Hockey Night in Guangzhou”, in which the cast of characters are super cool folks named Mohammed or Yao Ming or Aalimah (that’s a girl’s name—you know this is where it’s going…), and white Anglo-Saxon Protestant soccer-playing folks are cast as intolerant, backward, conservative dolts, who are possibly also Christian.

Or, because so powerful is the liberal-lefts’ need for immigrants (and the CBC) to sustain their voter base, they might go completely the other way with this.  They might attempt to social-engineer Canada into a soccer and ping-pong-playing mecca, and abandon hockey altogether as a passé national sport (those old-fashioned canook doofuses cling to their hockey and guns and religion!).  They will cite the need to change, and to adapt to the new reality and to the needs and wants and languages and religions and sports of the immigrants, as things change in Canada.  In this case, the CBC will of course create “Ping-Pong Night in Canada” or possibly “Little (Muslim) Cricketer on the Trois-Rivières”, to justify their existence.

In the meantime, it may be proposed that hockey equipment in Canada may be supplied for “free” (like health care is “free”) to certain (non European, since apparently Europeans alone can afford it) immigrants.  And to ensure quality and a cheap, ready supply (much like our state-produced isotopes and TV entertainment shows and now cars), it will be proposed by the liberals that hockey equipment be made by the state, by CAW and CUPE “working families” possibly working for a new division of Canada Post, or of course at General Motors of Canada of Obama (check with CEO Obama on that last one).

In the meantime, a Royal Inquiry and non-stop government committee work is a sure bet.
