For the third time today, I’m inclined to present this display of French cheese.
The scenario below could only happen amongst liberal-leftists, and very likely in French Canada: A race to appease anti-Canadians and disgrace one another and our nation, and to visibly, publicly insult our nation’s fighting men:
PQ members refuse to applaud soldiers in legislature
CanWest News Service
Published: Wednesday, June 20, 2007Quebec—The Quebec National Assembly ground to a halt Wednesday morning when a Liberal noted that some Parti Quebecois members refused to applaud seven Afghanistan-bound officers in the Canadian Forces, who were in the legislature’s balcony.
Health Minister Philippe Couillard drew attention to the slight.
It was not clear, if the PQ members who refused to clap knew that three Canadian soldiers had died in Afghanistan on Wednesday
[Joel asks the reporter: what does that have to do with it? They should only clap because three died today?]
.
PQ house leader Diane Lemieux, who did applaud, called on Mr. Couillard to withdraw his remark that it was “pathetic” that some PQ members did not applaud.
After a 30-minute timeout, Mr. Couillard did withdraw his remarks, noting that the issue is close to him because his son is an officer in the Canadian Forces.
Only liberal-leftists could possibly manage to comprehend Mr. Couillard having to retreat—withdraw his spot-on remarks—rather than repeat them vigorously and rightly shame the anti-Canadian PQ members as the pathetic asses they are. Only a liberal would retreat—cut and run and then apologize to boot—from this spot-on position, as he did.
The pathetic PQ members who didn’t applaud should be utterly embarrassed and ashamed of themselves, but of course they’re not. They’re liberals, and liberals are rarely embarrassed about any of their words or actions. Rather, they seek to shame and embarrass those who call them out and expose them.
Being liberal is hard.
