The correct answer to both is “no”.
Liberalvision CTV’s CTV.ca poll this morning:
Is stimulating the economy worth Canada going $64-billion into the red?

No, it’s too much – 57%5219 votes

The liberal-far-left’s Toronto Star online poll this morning:
Do you agree that a massive spending program that includes major deficits is the way to boost the ailing economy?
Yes – 40%
No – 48%
Don’t know -11%

I think it’s because deep down inside, even the dumbest socialist knows that it’s wrong-headed, and that massive government spending has proven to yeild to hideous waste and political corruption; and that individual citizens can and will spend their own money far more wisely, more efficiently, and even faster and better than governments can (and on things that actually matter); and also because we all know the secret, which is that government spending will come far too late (like after the recovery is already well under way or even complete), will cause massive deficits and debt, will handicap our future as a nation, saddle our children and grandchildren with massive debt; and that actually, it’s really all pure left-wing political ideology at work, not really helping but hurting Canada; and that it’s really something like insane.
…And that the focus should be on immediately, and probably largely permanently, massively cutting taxes, both corporate and personal (and unlike Obama’s insane Soviet-style plan, only for those who actually PAY taxes), in order to start putting cash into the pockets of Canadians today, which will be spent today, causing all manner of building, ordering, hiring, spending, tax-paying, and other such capitalist stuff to be unleashed once again, once again building this country and the entire world, and moving us forward.
I think.
EXTRA:
In the U.S., the latest Rasmussen poll:
Fifty-nine percent (59%) of U.S. voters worry that Congress and President Obama will increase government spending too much in the next year or two, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey.

I love this line I excerpted from a recent article by “our” Theo Caldwell:
“…Finally, when it comes to letting Canadians keep their own money, donʼt gild the lily. Make a tax cut a tax cut, not a credit where a person has to reinvest in government-approved silly-bears then run to the Parliament Hill parking lot and touch the hood of Michael Ignatieffʼs Thunderbird before getting any benefit. For once, make Canadian tax relief comprehensive and simple.”
