Followup on “Earth Hour” stupidity:
The progressive BC Liberal Party’s carbon-tax-imposing Environment Minister’s cat brushed by one of the candles he and his green wife spread around their home during “Earth Hour” (candles burning away and emitting smoke and gaseous wax are apparently A-OK, in terms of “saving the Earth”, in some parallel idiot universe), and the damn cat caught on fire. “Penner said Monday the couple had spread candles throughout their kitchen and dining room Saturday night for a true energy-free experience. ‘Suddenly there was a poof of smoke’.”
Paws for laughter. No you go ahead and laugh. This is insanely funny.
Fried the fur right off the pussy. At the risk of offending PETA, and I hope I do, and being called cynical, and I don’t care, that in itself is hilarious. Of course I imagine the CO2 emitted as the cat fur burned waaaay canceled-out the CO2 emissions saved by being ever so PC and dutifully turning out the lights just like the CBC told them to do. The headline could have read “Liberal Commits Outrageous Kitty ‘Carbon Pawprint’ —Offends PETA and Greenpeace!”
But… “Penner added that because it was Earth Hour, they aired out the house to get rid of the smell of singed fur by opening windows, not using a fan.”
Dear God. I hope they didn’t then have to turn up the heat to regain all the heat they let loose out the open windows. Maybe they just lit a fire.
