The Harper Conservatives won the day again, much to the chagrin of the liberal-left, which was utterly infuriated by Prime Minister Harper’s bold move in the direction of open and accountable government. Liberals are against that as we know.
Paul Martin, our nation’s former Prime Minister and a leader within his party when his own government committed the troops now fighting in Afghanistan to the mission in Afghanistan, didn’t even bother to show up. Oh yes, we’re still paying him. Sources tell me he was in the Parliamentary cafeteria eating Hot Pockets during the vote.
The liberal-left is besieged with rage over the fact that the Harper Conservatives are on such a winning streak, and that Harper would dare them to vote in Parliament on the Afghanistan mission even though by virtue of our Constitution, which they so adore, he didn’t even have to put it to a vote.
Meanwhile, our reputation as a leader in the world is enhanced, as is our reputation as a reliable partner in fighting for peace, democracy, freedom, and against terrorism —and as a country which doesn’t cut and run when the going gets tough.
The last word on the subject is: LEADERSHIP.
Thank you Prime Minister Harper.
