Liberal Prime Minister Paul Martin, who has snubbed the peoples’ representatives in the House of Commons by ignoring their non-confidence vote yesterday, has decided, almost as if he and his party were a dictatorship in a banana republic, that they will, at their own leisure, hold a vote on the budget on Thursday May 19.
That, he says, will be a confidence vote. Apparently it does not matter what the peoples’ representatives say.
If the peoples’ representatives (the members of parliament) vote against the budget bill, then the benevolent Liberal will approach her royal Liberalness, CBC reporter and Governor-General Adrienne Clarkson, and conspire to call an election at a time of his/her choosing. We are blessed by their generosity.
The state-run media will then go into election mode and restart the big, well-primed anti-conservative machine of hellacious fairness and balance for the left-
wing and extreme left-wing of Canada. Word has it that they will start their inquisition about Conservative leader Stephen Harper’s position on abortion almost immediately, then move onto the question of just how intolerant conservatives are, in general, which I’m told they’ve already decided is…. very!
Of course an election will likely be in the middle of the summer, when nobody is around and nobody votes. And of course the election will be billed by the liberal-left as a vote on the (socialist/ NDP/Liberal/Big-Labour-Union but shhh!) budget, which, they will teach Canadians, the evil Conservatives are against. The Conservatives are against budgets and have no intention of having one.
Rather, you see, the Conservatives will do a very few things: Go to war some damn place; end all rights for all people but especially gay people and “colored” folks; end all healthcare and make everybody pay for health care with American Express charge cards; and force young girls who are raped and get pregnant to have babies. Plus they will ruin Canada and stop it from being so dang “progressive”, taking it back either 500 years or three decades, depending on who you talk to.
And we’ll like it, and we’ll vote liberal. And Green!
