Nine million Iraqis vote in constitutional referendum. Liberals chagrinned

imageIf it were up to Canada’s liberal-left, this woman would not be voting on a constitutional referendum in Iraq yesterday, nor be living in a land governed by a democratically-elected government.  Instead, the evil tryant and dictator Saddam Hussein made it a habit to rape women exactly like this—maybe even this one—and/or savagely beat them in front of their children, then kill or mame their husbands.  That’s the sort of government Canada’s liberal-left wanted for this woman.  And yet Canada “leads the world”, according to the man Canadian liberals voted into power, Paul Martin and his Liberals.

An estimated 61 percent of the Iraqi population—roughly Canada’s average vote in a national general election where the livin’ is easy—voted yesterday in a constitutional referendum in Iraq, at tremendous personal risk of life and limb and that of their families.

They were able to do this thanks to conservative Republican President George W. Bush’s America and thousands of brave soldiers who continue to join America’s military even today; as well as the brave leadership and people of the U.K., Australia, and many other countries —-excluding Canada, of course, which was firmly against ousting Saddam Hussein and helping Iraqis gain their freedom.

Iraqis finish vote on historic referendum

An estimated nine million Iraqis turned out Saturday for a historic vote on a new constitution aimed at establishing a democracy after decades of dictatorship under Saddam Hussein.

Another report cites the fact that even Hussein’s Sunnis are enjoying all the democracy:

Sunnis turned out in force in Saturday’s voting, a stark contrast to parliamentary elections in January, which they boycotted as a protest to a political process they felt was handing the country’s Shiite majority unfair power. That move cost them, leaving them a minuscule presence in parliament.

The lines of Sunnis at the polls in the key electoral battleground states suggested they wanted to now participate in the political system.

I’m sure the evil tyrant Saddam Hussein, sitting in his jail cell watching this on TV and reading about this in newspapers, is embarrassed in addition to seething.

Liberals in Canada are against this.  If they had it their way, Saddam Hussein would still be in power.  Because that’s how liberals think.  And they’re not embarrassed.  Just seething.

Vote liberal.  Or Baath Party.
