Shawn Brant, Mohawk Indian band member, seems to me to have admitted on live television just now that he and his band and other bands are planning full-on blockades of the biggest highways in the nation and our nation’s main railway line on June 29 and possibly beyond.
Blockades are an Act of War, as I understand the laws of Canada and most countries of the world.
They can’t just continue to make “threats,” Brant says—it’s time to actually do it: shut down vital sectors of the Canadian economy by way of blockades, on June 29, and possibly beyond that. “Absolute shut downs,” he said. Just in time for the Canada Day long weekend travel. Naturally they don’t care one whit about “Canada Day”, for they see themselves as another nation altogether.
As far as I know, Brant remains free and the police have not arrested him. This, despite the fact that just now he told Mike Duffy, anchor of the Mike Duffy Live liberal hour, that he couldn’t appear live on camera because he couldn’t leave home—there were police with arrest warrants awaiting him. Duffy even explained that he’s at home and as such they opted to talk on the phone.
I imagine the RCMP or the terrorist task squad could ascertain this information from the tape at CTV News. Then they could go to his home and arrest him since they now know where he is and they’ve got those warrants.
I imagine I’ll read about his arrest on the news wires any minute now, although Duffy said his goodbyes by indicating that he’ll be checking in with him on the 29th. Perhaps he meant by way of a phone call to a jail.
