A new Ice Age coming, again! (More “man-made global warming” sillyspeak)

Professor Mojib Latif, whom the media insists on calling “one of the world’s leading climate modelers” (hey is any “man-made global warming” proponent NOT “one of the world’s leading climate modelers”?), and whom they also cast as one of the U.N.‘s big shot global warming experts and authors of the U.N.‘s big scary alarmist enviro religion they call “man-made global warming”, says much of the warming we’ve seen in the past 30 years isn’t due to the man-made (or even cow-farted) greenhouse gasses, but to normal, cyclically warming oceans.

Which is weird, because that’s what so many “deniers” have been saying for ages. Mmmmbut anyhoo…

Don’t worry, the “science” is still “settled”.  Always was, always will be.  Yup.  It’s just that “settled science” is actually “a living document”, see, like the liberals’ idea of the U.S. Constitution.  It can change.  When you need it to.  To accommodate your ideology, see.

So I guess the next question is, what’s really warming the oceans?  Because it can’t just be “natural”, or, say, “the sun”, even though it actually is.  Because like how can ya tax the sun?  Or the Earth?  They aren’t “corporations”!  (Oh God —- I hope I’m not giving the lefties the idea to buy them and make the Earth and Sun divisions of the government like the CBC!)

What I’m currently waiting for are cries of “the science is settled” and “the debate is over” regarding the new “fact” that Americans enjoying their LeisureCraft family boats are what’s warming the oceans. See, the hypotenuse of the friction caused by capitalist American-made leisure boats slipping through the water as driven by “rich” people, squared, heats the oceans… it’s science!

Here’s an official science graph you can expect to see to prove their “science”:

But now Latif says the next 30 years will actually COOL, not warm, because of that same ocean temperature phenomenon, leaving us wondering what to do with our newfangled leisure craft-enjoying American ocean warmer villain and boat friction theory.

Maybe the governments will create a useful government program!

30 Years of Global Cooling Are Coming, Leading Scientist Says
January 11, 2010

From Miami to Maine, Savannah to Seattle, America is caught in an icy grip that one of the U.N.‘s top global warming proponents says could mark the beginning of a mini ice age.

Or as many of you who follow the “man-made global warming” theories change and accommodate reality, and who once again see facts not going your way, say:  “d’oh!”

…Latif thinks the cold snap Americans have been suffering through is only the beginning. He says we’re in for 30 years of cooler temperatures—a mini ice age, he calls it, basing his theory on an analysis of natural cycles in water temperatures in the world’s oceans.

Latif, a professor at the Leibniz Institute at Germany’s Kiel University and an author of the U.N.‘s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report, believes the lengthy cold weather is merely a pause—a 30-years-long blip—in the larger cycle of global warming, which postulates that temperatures will rise rapidly over the coming years.

At a U.N. conference in September, Latif said that changes in ocean currents known as the North Atlantic Oscillation could dominate over manmade global warming for the next few decades. Latif said the fluctuations in these currents could also be responsible for much of the rise in global temperatures seen over the past 30 years.

Latif is a key member of the UN’s climate research arm, which has long promoted the concept of global warming. He told the Daily Mail that “a significant share of the warming we saw from 1980 to 2000 and at earlier periods in the 20th Century was due to these cycles—perhaps as much as 50 percent.”

According to the U.S. National Snow and Ice Data Center in Colorado, the warming of the Earth since 1900 is due to natural oceanic cycles, and not man-made greenhouse gases. The agency also reports that Arctic summer sea ice has increased by 409,000 square miles, or 26 per cent, since 2007.

…And thus, the supposed reduction in Arctic ice had nothing whatever to do with “greenhouse gasses” and so on, but had to do with naturally cyclically rising ocean temperatures.  Darn the luck.

Let not your heart be troubled, though, all you believers in the “man-made global warming” religion.  Latif still thinks the “man-made global warming” is alive and well.  It’s just going to take a time-out for about 30 years.  How convenient.

Oh dear.
