Monday Monday Newsquips

NEWSQUIPS BRIEFING NOTESMonday Monday was a song by the Mamas and Papas from the 60s. It’s suitable here because Canada is still all about the family, except now it’s not the traditional family, it’s the new trendy “progressive”-style family:  first and foremost, the state is increasingly now part of—or even leads and sustains—our families, liberal-left-style; we’ve got big brother, the mammoth overweight nanny and lots of provincial and civic nannies, and lots of mothers, and even (sugar) daddies;  but no “husbands” or “wives” (just “life partners”); and dumb old “moms and dads” are now passé, replaced with “non-sexually-defined parental unit humanoid #1” and “#2” and often “#3” (and so on).  …  Life-sustaining PTBC SUPPORT update: the weekend shaped up like this:  Ward B. started a $10 per month PTBC contribution; Darrell C. graced us with $25; and Loretta P. contributed $20.  Thanks to all of you!  We all thank you for the brotherly love.  … Newquips are updated through the day. Refresh the page. Come back often.  Comment.  New commenters needed. PTBC relies on visible support from all the bruthas and sistas out there.

1. Speaking of Monday, if it’s getting close to Christmas, then Canada’s stuck-in-the-dinosaur-era federal employee labor unions must be getting ready for what they call the “holiday” season, meaning of course that they’re getting set to… STRIKE! image Nothing is more important to them than, well, them.  Canada Post counter staff, technical support and other horribly overworked state-employed staff who are well-paid and have all the benefits in the world and rock-solid employment security no matter what, went on strike today in a dispute over paid sick days and, suitably for Momas and Papas’ Monday Monday, over “family-related leave provisions”.  … During their reigns the liberal-left have officially redefined “marriage” and “family” (see above), so it’s hard to know just what they mean by that…  But as usual, just send your family’s Christmas parcels to your friends and family by FedEx to ensure delivery.  … Strike THIS:  These government union employees and their sugar daddies in the Liberal and of course the you’ve got to be kidding party are the same ones who want to look after your kids in their unionized national child daycare (and “early learning” —wink!) system. To replace mama and papa

image 2. I’m going to launch our annual “It’s called Christmas, Dammit” campaign today, I think.  Liberals are against that.  So start thinking of the stores or businesses (or even cities and towns) you’ve visited, or which you’ve seen advertised, which make every effort to NOT say “Christmas”—replacing reality with the likes of “seasonal festivus of holiday values and non-descript colourful light” (and so on); and on the bright side, those who happily celebrate Christmas like normal Canadians who aren’t radical secularist “progressive” loons.  !  We’ll name names.

3. Speaking of Mamas and sugar daddies, Marc Cuban, the billionaire owner of the Dallas Mavericks and the un-patriot who financed the failed anti-American film “Redacted” in 2007 (opening weekend: $25,000 … yes, that’s thousands, not millions), a film which negatively portrayed American soldiers by depicting them committing murder and rape in Iraq, thereby inflaming passions against and stirring up anti-American sentiment against the U.S. and coalition military—in a time of war —has been charged by the U.S. Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) for insider trading in shares of MAMMA.com.  I kid you not.  Mamma.com has familial ties with Canada, having been born in Montreal but which now resides in Quebec City (OK, ties with The Nation Of Quebec).  Like fellow billionaire and ex-con Martha Stewart who was also convicted on stock trading-related charges, Marc Cuban may soon experience some of the brotherly love in prison shower rooms.  … I hope somebody makes a graphic and disturbing anti-Marc Cuban film about it.

4. Speaking of families from Hell, since when do we take advice from Liberals about family—or even take their party’s comparisons to family seriously?  “The Liberal party is a political party. It’s not a family,” said Liberal leadership holeful Bare-Ass Bob Rae, who exposed his bare ass on national (state-owned) television during prime time for all the nation to see because he thought (a) he’s had a nice ass, and (b) that’s what all serious world leaders do. (He was wrong on both counts.)  image  Bare-Ass Bob was whining like a baby over his own decision to not go to a closed-door Liberal Party insider meeting he was invited to over the weekend, which was attended by leadership rival Michael Ignatieff and other leadership rival Dominic LeBlanc, son of Pierre Trudeau pal and Liberal insider Roméo LeBlanc.  …  Wannabe grownup papa figure Iggy said, “It was appropriate to have a day when we were among the family talking about our problems…” ;  and, sensing reporters were still in the room, “The party wants to have a family discussion and that’s what we’re going to do this afternoon.”  And, continuing his boring fatherly lecture, said, “There’s a time for a family gathering and then there’s time for public gatherings. Today is family.”  Yawn.  Then I imagine he cried “what’s a mother to do?”

… For his part, LeBlanc said, apparently trying to mimic Jan from The Brady Bunch, “Frankly, the so-called candidates of experience should show more maturity.”  …  And then, I imagine, “Michael, Michael, Miiiichael!”  Oh my.  Far from the Bradys, it all sounds like a Christmas dinner at the Fockers

5.   ALL IN THE FAMILY isn’t on anymore, but if it were, it would be in the top ten, methinks.  In Canada.  Because Canadians like the American shows.  It’s almost like we’re family.  And Canadians don’t seem to like the “mother corp”, the state-owned, state-run, far-left, boring CBC.  Here, for the 8,000th time, is the latest ranking (November 3 – 9) of TV shows and the networks they’re shown on, in Canada.  Note that as usual, the state-owned BILLION-TAXPAYER-DOLLARS-PER-YEAR CBC is only in the top 10 or 20 or even 30 when there’s a hockey game on.  That’s value for our BILLION BUCKS, liberal-left-style!  In this one special week, the CBC also cracked the top 30 (at #26… yeehaaah!) when the all-American Jeopardy game show was on … Also note that Canadians watch the news on CTV.  Not CBC.

image6.   While we’re at it:  here’s the ratings for cable news channels in the U.S. (this is from Thursday, but it’s just like this nearly every day).  Note that as usual, Fox News Channel is the clear favorite.  And unlike in Canada and its state-owned far-left CBC, Fox News Channel isn’t required, by Iranian-style broadcasting laws created by liberals, to be fed into every Canadian home by cable and satellite providers for free.

7. “The world has never seen such freezing heat”.  Amazing read, about some very recent lies and manipulated climate data, as told by the Al Gore Gang and his fascist-like family of liberal-left “man-made global warming” alarmist goons.  (Hat tip to Glen D. for that article.) … And Speaking of would-be families:  Another good reader tip—this one from a blog comment here“Serbian Abortionist Who Aborted 48,000 Babies Becomes Pro-Life Activist”. —it’s a good read about this former Morgentalerist.  Favorite quote:  “The medical textbooks of the Communist regime said abortion was simply the removal of a blob of tissue.”  (Hat tip to Greg for that one).
