Mike Adams on a roll: Now he’s going to be president

Just yesterday we experienced a Mike Adams column (in our Columnist section), which led to an outcry from a fellow member of academia in the U.S. who wrote a comment in my blog entry “…I am getting tired of all this constant trashing of universities as liberal hotbeds bent on destroying western civilization…”.  I pointed out to him in reply that personally, I’m tired of universities being liberal hotbeds bent on destroying western civilization.

Well naturally that prompted an angry email from the sad commenter in which he wrote that “It’s too bad. I used to enjoy reading your site, but since you seem to be so set on your ways, I’ve deleted the bookmark. Must be nice to like the sound of your own voice so much.”

No, I don’t understand some people either.  Firstly, I wasn’t speaking so there was no sound… but I jest.  Poor baby.

Anyway, here we are in a new day—Friday, and once again we’re blessed by a Mike Adams day.  Or should I say Presidents’ Day?

When I first heard there was an organized effort to expel Rosemary DePaolo as UNC-Wilmington’s chancellor, I was taken aback. I thought the student group (called “I hate my chancellor”) was way too harsh in their criticism of Dr. DePaolo. But, later, when I found out there was a group called “Mike Adams for chancellor” I got over it.

Tonight, I am pleased to accept your offer to lead UNC-Wilmington for the next three years.

My first act in office will be to change the name of my position. I will be called President Adams, not Chancellor Adams. I don’t even know what the term “chancellor” means. It sounds like an overpaid, pompous ass to me.

It’s in the Columnist section.
