Michael Jackson claims there’s a vast white-wing conspiracy

Jacko decries anti-black conspiracy” is the headline emanating from the Associated Press story.  “Pop star tells fans he’s the latest luminary to be targeted by plot”.

Just the latest…. in an apparently long string of black people to be the target of whitey’s effort to keep them down.

As an evil whitey, I can tell you I never got the memo.  If anyone has a copy, please email it to me so I can expose it and join Michael’s team because I’ll be right with him.  By the way, I’m still after one of those Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy memos that folks like me should theoretically have gotten. Oh and also the “Hidden Agenda” tapes (or whatever they’re supposed to be) from Stephen Harper’s people.  Help me out people. I’m out of the loop.

LOS ANGELES—Declaring himself “completely innocent” of child molestation charges, Michael Jackson said yesterday he is the victim of a conspiracy and asked fans around the world to pray for him. In an interview with Rev. Jesse Jackson, the entertainer would not elaborate on his conspiracy belief, citing the court-imposed gag order that prevents him from discussing his trial in detail.

However, he said he believes he is the latest of several “black luminaries” to be unjustly accused, citing former South African president Nelson Mandela and former heavyweight boxing champions Muhammad Ali and Jack Johnson as others.

“I just want to say to fans in every corner of the Earth, every nationality, every race, every language: I love you from the bottom of my heart,” Jackson said toward the end of the hour-long interview live on the Internet.

“I would love your prayers and your goodwill, and please be patient and be with me and believe in me because I am completely, completely innocent. But please know a lot of conspiracy is going on as we speak,” he said. []

A “lot of conspiracy”.  Well there’s a lot of something, anyway.
