Liberals don’t just hate America. They hate Canada. They don’t trust Canadians, and they don’t trust the capitalist system upon which it was built.
“Made-in-Canada” solutions to pollution problems? No! say liberals. They’re against even trying that. They prefer government solutions. Taxes. Spending. Rules. Regulations. Canadians are too stupid!

“Made-in-Canada” solutions? Yes! say conservatives, who think Canadians and their entrepreneurial spirit and capitalist nature are capable of such a thing, and the Harper Conservative government under the able ministry of Minister of Environment Rona Ambrose is basing their whole strategy on trusting Canadians to come up with solutions. Challenge Canadians—push them—lead them forward to new and exciting ventures. Push the envelope. Advance. Make actual progress. Get out of the way.
Liberals are against that.
Liberals don’t trust Canadians. No, they don’t trust Canadians to spend their own money (remember “beer and popcorn” for the rest of your lives—that’s VERY important: watch this PTBC video flick*, and remember always); they don’t even trust Canadians to spend their own money on their own basic health care—it’s against the law here, just like it is in North Korea, where they also don’t trust their own citizens.
So they certainly don’t think, as we’ve seen and keep seeing day after day, that Canadians can think of a way to solve pollution problems and dependence on fossil fuels.
Liberal leftists think only the government—liberal-left government— can be trusted to accomplish ANYTHING. That’s in spite of the fact that governments accomplish exactly NOTHING and get in the way of actual progress.

*POST SCRIPT – Regular ProudToBeCanadian.ca readers will know that there was a better PTBC video flick about the actual “beer and popcorn” moment. But as I’ve quietly alluded to in the recent past, the liberals’ state-run CBC liberal lawyer squad has formally threated to sue me to what amounts to Kingdom Come for …using mere snippets of their video, in the way in which I did (which was, lo and behold, manifestly anti-liberal). So far, the CTV hasn’t threatened to sue me.
