This was a bit large for a J-Lines quip and it started oozing over the edges when I tried to put the lid on, so I’ll stick it here.
Liberal Denis Coderre in normal shaved style at left, then at right in his Afghanistan bearded style for his big P.R. trip in October 2007. Perhaps he didn’t want to look too “Canadian”.
Liberal MP on high stakes publicity stunt—Liberal joker Denis Coderre, who mocks our nation and its Prime Minister by calling him “President Harper” on national TV on the apparent basis of what the hell, it’s just a stupid country, says his unauthorized and deadly dangerous (for our troops protecting him and everyone else) Paris Hilton-style trip to Afghanistan is, as CTV’s Steve Chao reported,
—”…to understand the mission from a first-hand perspective.”
—Furthermore: “He believes it will help the debate as to whether Canada should pull its combat troops out by 2009”.
—Still further: “Coderre said he is here for a few days to, in his words, live with the troops and see the mission through their eyes.”
Then a couple paragraphs down: “However, he has vowed that nothing he learns during the visit will change his opinion that Canada’s combat mission must end by 2009.”
So at least he’s keeping an open mind.
Next stop for Denis (“Paris Hilton”) Coderre: the cat walk! (Won’t you join me in a li’l prayer for no porn videos?)
