Liberals claim Conservatives are simply after the “gun lobby”. All 194 of ‘em.

Have the Liberals done the math on this?  Why of course they have.  “The gun lobby” consists of a constituency smaller than liberal supporters of Auditor-General Sheila Fraser.  Yet that’s what the Liberals pretend the Conservative government is after when refusing to reinstate the ridiculous liberal big-government of idiocy long-gun registry.  They think the words “gun lobby” will appeal, negatively, to their liberal base.  I’m sure it is more appealing than “The Harper Conservatives are obviously doing what they truly believe, what voters voted for, and what is demonstrably right for our country and its taxpaying citizens”.  And repeating the canard about the police referring to the gun registry 5,000 times per day rings true only to those liberals who also believe the liberal-leftists’ line that “Bush caused 9-11”.

Lying, to liberals, is perfectly acceptable if it means getting into power.  That’s why they also keep accusing Conservatives of only going after their “big corporate base” (of which there are 13 individual voter-members in Canada); and only that indefinable and invisible and non-existent “Religious-Right” or “Christian-Right”, which the liberals nonetheless insist is but a scant minority, um, yet not worthy of standing or special Court Challenges Program funding, EGALE-style, in this country.  By the way, I’m not sure who the “Religious-Right” are, or where they’re based, or who the boss is, or what their phone number is, or how you join that club, and I’ve never been invited to join, but they sure get a lot of bad press for such a marginal group of radicals!

The gun registry idiocy was brought up by liberals yet again today (it was all over liberalvision) because one of the unfortunate victims of the recent Montreal school shootings, and the parent of another one who tragically died, held a news conference and much to the glee of liberals (who naturally only care for the welfare of the poor kids), made a point of indicating their support for the liberals’ hideous long-gun registry.  The Liberals’ pretend leader, Bill Graham, and a few of his Liberal Party friends just happened to have been standing by (at the very same news conference!) with microphones in front of their faces, and somber, prepared speeches, after the victims made their well-crafted statements.  But at least they aren’t making it political.

And for the liberal media, of course, the only people worth listening to are people who support the long-gun registry, as we know.  Or abortion.  Or child care and “early learning” (—wink!).  Or gay bath-houses.  Or the sex “trade”.  Or surrendering from the war on terror.  Or any liberal-leftist cause célèbre.

Well excuse me for being politically incorrect and for not falling for the liberal strategy of creating spokesmen out of sympathy-inducing victims, thinking that they are beyond the reach of critics due to their inherent victimness (hi Cindy Sheehan!), but what makes a victim of gun violence more authoritative than anyone else on the sense or lack thereof of a long-gun registry in controlling long-gun violence?

Too bad for us that the liberal media couldn’t interview—and liberal politicians prepare news conferences in advance—for any of the 100,000-plus annual victims of abortion in Canada.  But Graham informed us today in the House of Commons that dumping the long-gun registry was “morally reprehensible”.
