In what strained leap of liberal logical does a man who was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, raised there, and lived all his life in Canada, become known as a person of “Asian heritage”? or as a “Chinese Canadian”? If you’re born and raised and lived all of your life in Canada and you’re a Canadian citizen, you’re a “Canadian”, I thought.
The ridiculous left-wing Macleans Magazine disagrees.
[…] Born in Calgary in 1929 to Chinese immigrants, Kwong becomes Alberta’s first lieutenant-governor of Asian heritage.
In 1948, he also became the first Chinese Canadian to play in the Canadian Football League and was dubbed the China Clipper for his ferocity as a running back. […]
I understand “ancestry”, but if my late father was Belgian, but I was born and raised here and spent all my life here and I am a Canadian citizen and have never even visited Belgium, does that make me a “Belgian-Canadian”? No? OK so does that trick only work with visible minorities? And liberals aren’t racists? OK. Got it!
Now if only we can get them to recognize “Canadians” as being “Canadian” without that damn hyphen….. Then maybe they’ll want to defend our country! No. Just kidding. Baby steps!
