Tomorrow should prove interesting. Even while the Liberals are in the House of Commons clinging to power in the face of the nations’ representatives voting their non-confidence in the government, the Gomery Inquiry into the massive and growing Liberal Party corruption scandal will continue as if that’s not going on. And in fact, it seems the Liberals have decided that they will cling to power as if that’s not going on too. They only listen to themselves. That way they don’t get too confused by facts, history, ideas, arguments, and testimony—‘n other junk like that.
Interesting interpretation of democracy these liberals adhere to.
The opposition calls Tuesday the day of reckoning on which the Liberal government faces its demise in a non-confidence vote.
The Liberals call it the second day of the work week – and nothing more dramatic. Their opponents say the government should resign and call an election if it loses a vote on a motion expected at 5:45 p.m. EDT. The Liberals dismiss suggestions the vote carries life-or-death implications and vow to continue governing regardless of the result.
