The Conservative Party (Liberal Party Too!) continue their slide to the left by ensuring the decks are stacked with liberals. This time it’s Peter Kent. Of the liberal news media.
I wonder if he’ll be as effective as, say, Belinda Stronach at moving the party to the left.
[…] Mr. Kent said he had spoken about his possible candidacy with Mr. Harper, deputy Tory leader Peter MacKay and MPs such as John Reynolds and Belinda Stronach.
He said covering the Conservatives’ Montreal policy conference in March was a key factor in his decision to run for the Tories.
“Watching grassroots delegates dilligently [sic] developing a set of policies that really are bulletproof,” piqued his interest, he said. “They really hammered out a spectrum that I’m proud of that the country should respect as fair and honest.”
He said he was “moved” by the Tories’ decision “to defend a woman’s right to choose,” and said while he disagrees with the Liberal decision to refer legislation on same-sex marriage to the Supreme Court, he would vote for it —a vote that would put him among a decided minority in the Conservative caucus.
Great. I’m so glad he was moved. When the Conservative Party moved to the left, he was reporting on it. Weird. You’d think he wouldn’t be moved by it. Like he was an anchor or something. A news anchor. Reporting the news. Objectively.
Wow. A candid admission from one of the media that they are not objective and are not reporting without an emotional bias. And in this case, what “moved” him was the darling of the liberal-left, that fabulous Canadian virtue, those fantastic abortions. And that great liberal idea, gay marriage. What a coinkidink.
