I’ve said this before, and it’s becoming increasingly obvious. Especially on the socialism-reliant CBC.
It’s all about AIG, they’d have us believe. The CBC and other liberal-leftist media is once again covering for President Obama, and pretending that all that outrage out there in the American countryside is directed at AIG and other corporations —which they’d have us believe are responsible for the recession and all the mess we’re in. Not government, not politicians (except Bush), not the media itself, what with its 24/7 promotion of “recession” and “the greatest recession since, like, ever!” and “the coming Great Depression” and general trash-talking of the erstwhile good Bush economy over the past eight years. It’s all AIG and all those nasty corporations. Capitalism is evil! And it’s dead! Time’s ripe for our “progressive” way! Change!
There is grassroots anger to be found and rightly directed at some of those corporations, yes. But the paramount outrage out there in the real world is not directed at them—rather it is more at GOVERNMENT. And moreover, it is at OBAMA’s government and his increasingly obviously socialist ploy of throwing taxpayer money at everything to supposedly “rescue” everybody (except, of course, “rich people” —those making more than GM line workers). The CBC pretends it’s a story about the outrage over AIG brass “rewarding failure” by paying out bonuses to executives. But even a cursory glance at Obama’s “stimulus” and sundry bailouts reveals that “rewarding failure” is Obama’s middle name, (after Hussein). And that Obama and his administration doesn’t seem to know what he and it are doing. And that’s the outrage.
The mainstream media will have none of that storyline. They seek to redirect. Obfuscate. Mold history to their liking, even as the history of this economic story is taking shape.
P.S. Barack Hussein Obama collected more than $101,000 in AIG campaign contributions.
