Liberal-left MPs may have to pay for their own prostitutes in Europe

The liberal-left’s efforts at making Canada the land of prostitution in addition to pot-smoking, free taxpayer-funded abortions without any limitations, gay ‘marriage’, and a social program for every citizen Soviet Union-style—just might be getting dealt a blow today.

The Liberal Party and the NDP, which is in favor of prostitution and wants to promote it as another one of those famous liberal Canadian “virtues” like all of the above, will be saddened.

MPs’ tour of brothels is facing a red light

$200GS TRIP A ‘WASTE OF MONEY’

By KATHLEEN HARRIS, OTTAWA BUREAU
[April 12 2005]

A COMMITTEE that oversees MP travel could pull the plug today on a controversial $200,000 European trip to visit brothels and red-light districts. The liaison committee, which meets behind closed doors to discuss funding requests from MPs, is expected to nix the plan for five MPs to travel to Sweden, the Netherlands, the U.K. and Nevada.

Conservative MP Leon Benoit called it a “junket” that should be immediately rejected.

“I think it should be shot down in about five seconds,” he said. “I think it’s absurd that they’re wasting our time and money studying that. If they insist on studying it, do it here at home.”

Liberal MP Roger Gallaway, vice-chairman of the liaison committee, said backlash from angry constituents likely doomed the trip.

“I think it’s going to fail. There’s too much public push-back. I’ve heard nothing about Gomery but a whole bunch about this,” he said. “They think it’s bizarre.”

The trip by NDP MP Davies, Tory MP Art Hanger, Bloc Quebecois MP Paule Brunelle and Liberals John Maloney and Hedy Fry was approved by the justice committee last month. Hanger later told Sun Media he thought the trip was a waste of money.

The liaison committee meetings are closed to the public, and clerk Marc Bosc could not discuss today’s agenda.

I can’t help but wonder if the MPs were going to actually “try out” the brothels and use taxpayer funds to pay for their prostitute.  And if they are successful and make Canada the land of prostitutes, which they are obviously extremely anxious to do, since they could think of nothing more important in Canada than legalizing prostitution, will there be a free state-run national universal sex-from-prostitutes program set up by the liberals?  It’s a legitimate question.  Let’s start asking it during the next election.
