Liberal Frenchman’s “Green Shift”-o-rama tax-raising plan failed, so they dropped it.
Then, Stephane Dion and Team Liberal began, as if being advised by Scott (“they’ll spend their money on beer and popcorn if we don’t tax it away from them!”) Reid began foolishly hammering away at the Harper Conservative record on managing the budget and the economy. They started with their mendacious mantra that Conservatives, for reasons of “DNA” ( ©2008 Stephane the genetics guru Dion) can’t manage the economy —you know, like good socialists and Marxists.
They have been fully and squarely blaming Team Harper, in advance, for (quote) “the failing Canadian economy” (which the lib-left dearly wish for under Harper’s watch) and the “deficit” which exists only in the hazy liberal ether, not in reality.
Then a couple of days ago I wrote that the latest figures show the budget in surplus to a degree that was beyond even optimistic expectations, and today we find that the economy has grown beyond expectations.
Economy records largest advance since 2004 in July

CTV.ca News StaffCanada’s gross domestic product rose above projected expectation in July based largely on the strength of the energy sector.
Statistics Canada reported Tuesday that the economy grew 0.7 per cent, surpassing the 0.2 per cent increase that economists in the private sector had expected.
It’s the fastest growth rate since March 2004.

Much of the remaining growth in Canada’s economy was due to strength in the manufacturing and wholesaling industries, StatsCan reports.
Within the manufacturing industry, an advance of 1.3 per cent was registered, with 17 of the 21 major industry groups recording increases.
They were prepared to fully blame Harper and the Conservatives for phantom deficit and failing economy.
Now we can safely demand that Dion and Layton give full, and very public credit to Harper and the Conservatives for this. That would be the honorable, honest, principled thing to do.
Or to put it another way, they won’t do diddly. They will attempt to find another bogey man. They will get progressively more stupid.
