Hi Joel,

A note I received from Iggy.  Pretty much sums up what i thought his canned response would be using language like “safety” for women.  I assume he means safety for those who are already born?

I really enjoyed the “no matter how contrary those views may seem to those of others”.  Makes it sound like I am in the fringe. ha.

Anyhow just wanted to forward this along….

Cheers

George

Thank you for your correspondence concerning Canada’s abortion laws.

It is the longstanding view of the Liberal Party of Canada that women must have the right to choose, and this party will take no step that limits, or opens the door to limiting, access to safe medical services for women across Canada.

I understand this issue stirs extremely strong feelings and the Liberal Party respects the right of every Canadian to express their views freely and openly, no matter how contrary those views may seem to those of others.

Should you wish to discuss this or any other matter, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

The Office of Michael Ignatieff, M.P.
Leader of the Opposition

Thanks George.  … You should ask them if they believe in “access to safe medical services for” babies in the womb who need them, “across Canada”.  Or perhaps “access to” safety, period, for babies in the womb, “across Canada”.

Joel

Also see recent blog entry about the surgery performed on what the media—even the CBC — called “a baby in the womb”CBC chooses life; calls that pre-born human life thing in the womb… a “baby”.  Excerpt:  Throughout the story, they kept referring to it as “a baby”. …  Anchor Nancy Wilson also referred to the baby as a “patient”.  Once again that’s a “patient”. … Also referred to the child as “the child”.
