How to NOT lead a country (or an opposition)

No poll needed to figure this out:  Most Canadians, if they understand the issues at all, are of a massively mixed mind about….

every

single

thing

.  Not just a “healthy difference of opinion”—I mean they’re twisted, confused, uninformed, have no, shall we say, “value-determination method”, and so on.  It doesn’t matter what the issue is.  You could ask:  “Do you think Americans are idiots?”, and one-third would say “yes”, another third would say “don’t know”, and another third would feign surprise and disgust at the question.

It says a lot about the leadership of this country over the years.  The liberal-left leaders of this country are themselves befuddled by even simple issues of right and wrong.  They fail to be able to speak with a strong convincing voice on anything and lead the nation into a chorus of anything but sick anti-Americanism and a sick, weak, stupid, “if it feels good, do it” mentality—the epitome of liberalism.

The so-called conservative opposition party, which is called the Conservative Party for now, seems completely incapable of leading Canadians to appropriate conclusions even on issues that would be easy as pie for true leaders to work.  Joining the Ballistic Missile Defence plan, stopping late-term abortions, not decriminalizing pot-smoking, dramatically reducing government spending and dramatically reducing taxes, dramatically and quickly building up our national defence, banning gay ‘marriage’, and a host of other things should be easy as pie to form into a cohesive, conservative Canadian choir, but it’s anything but like that now.

I think I’m convincing more people to think along the conservative lines than the Conservative Party is, just by talking to friends and posting here.

Canadians open to missile plan

[…] Most Canadians believe the country should help defend North America against missile attacks and cannot rely on the United States for protection, according to a National Post poll.

The new COMPAS poll suggests that while a slim majority opposes Canadian participation in the American missile defence program, public opinion remains highly unstable.

Overall, the results suggest Canadians could easily be persuaded to back the missile shield, said COMPAS president Conrad Winn.

“The Conservatives could almost certainly mobilize majority support for missile defence and make the party system a lot more competitive if they put their mind to it,” he said.

“I don’t think the country has firm opinions on this issue.’’ […]
