A while back I mentioned that I occasionally look at this site’s server logs, and said that it is easy to identify the many people looking at this site and reading all our good stuff—from government of Canada offices and Parliament itself.
Below are some of the many sources of hits from the Parliament buildings, or government of Canada offices to this site in the past several days.
For your reference, “gc” stands for “government of Canada”. I simply searched for “.gc.ca”. Surely there are other government-related extensions but I had to limit to something. I also happened upon a lot of “gov.bc.ca”, and I suspect that those hits are Government of BC bureaucrats and investigators and sundry operatives checking my site out to ensure that I comply with their gag laws against free speech during elections, which unfortunately for them, I reluctantly do.
I also note that RCMP (“gate4hq.rcmp-grc.gc.ca”) disturbingly figures in there, as does “stop.justice.gc.ca”, and “user.fin.gc.ca”. I’m ever so amused however that the CBC checks us out too (“intout.cbc.ca”). I’ve only listed each source once, but some of the sources occur hundreds of times in the logs.
This is just from the last several days, so I could have more fun if I had the time! And of course I suspect that most MPs and government employees check the site from their homes or offices, so they wouldn’t show up here in this list of course.
