Israel still stands, as strong as ever, despite the Islamofascists’ wish to see it and all its people wiped off the face of the Earth. Terrorists and many of their residential hideouts in Lebanon are now flattened, and the people—women and children—that they were using as human shields: dead. If that’s “victory” for the Islamofascists, I wonder what “losing” is. But these are among the many differences between Islamofascist savages and civilized folks.
Hezbollah declares ‘historic victory’
BINT JBAIL, Lebanon – Hours after a U.N.-imposed cease-fire halted the monthlong Mideast conflict, Hezbollah leader Sheik Hassan Nasrallah declared that his guerrillas had achieved a “strategic, historic victory” over Israel. Israel’s prime minister, however, maintained the offensive eliminated the “state within a state” run by Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.
Lebanese civilians jammed onto roads to stream back to war-ravaged areas Monday after a the cease-fire halted the fighting that claimed more than 900 lives.
For the first time in a month, no rockets were fired into northern Israel, but few Israelis who fled the war were seen returning and Israel’s government advised them to stay away for now.
Nasrallah said Hezbollah “came out victorious in a war in which big Arab armies were defeated (before).”
He also said now was not the time to debate the disarmament of his guerrilla fighters.
Nasrallah, speaking on the day a cease-fire took effect — ending 34 days of fighting between Hezbollah and Israel — called Monday “a great day.”
“We are today before a strategic, historic victory, without exaggeration,” he said in a taped speech on Hezbollah’s al-Manar TV.
Nasrallah said the massive destruction inflicted by Israel was an expression of its “failure and impotency.” And he promised Hezbollah would help the Lebanese people rebuild.
“The enemy destroyed thousands of houses in the south, the Bekaa and the southern suburbs,” Nasrallah said.
The AP reporter, Lauren Thayer, accidentally failed to use the opportunity to mention that the terrorists live in, hide in, and store and launch missiles from the “thousands of houses in the south, the Bekaa and the southern suburbs,” which is perhaps the biggest part of this story and all the Lebanese casualties. It’s at least germane to the article and worth mentioning, rather than using as an apparent means with which to drum up sympathy for the terrorist and their accomplices.
Instead, the story goes on and on like this, and again laments the ruination of “homes” and “businesses” which the reporter again fails to mention are the places where missiles are launched against innocent Israeli citizens and from which terrorists hide and mix among the population which they use as human shields—without much apparent animus from the Lebanese.
After the cease-fire took effect, lines of cars — some loaded with mattresses and luggage — snaked slowly around bomb craters and ruined bridges as residents began heading south to find out what is left of their homes and businesses.
Missing sentence: …which so many of them allowed to be used by the Hezbollah terrorists as hideouts and as storage depots for bombs and machine guns and missiles used to kill innocent Israelis in Israel in their effort to wipe Israel and all Jews off the face of the Earth and to make it nearly impossible for Israel to defend against without killing and inflicting casualties amongst the citizenry of Lebanon.
