As you already know by now, if you’re even the slightest bit against changing the definition of marriage and you’re not in full favour of gayness and gay weddings, you’re a homophobe, and/or a religious freak, and/or a conservative Neanderthal asshat.
And if you’re a reader of liberal old-media columnists like Don Martin and Daphne Bramham, you’ll realize you’re also likely a “knuckle dragger”! And that’s just the more “tolerant” names the “tolerant” ones from the “tolerant” end of the spectrum call you.
So ya better get on board! This is Canada! Help gay liberals “normalize” gayness and gay married couples! Help make Canada a more liberal-left Canada! Make Canada a Mo Liberal Canada! Watch this show every week! And for God’s sake remember people: Vote Liberal!
Because despite your beliefs, if you don’t do all those things, you’re an idiot. Or a “bigot”. Have I got that about right, liberals? Thought so.
In his big article (Global TV launches new Canadian reality show My Fabulous Gay Wedding) advertising and promoting the new show for free while also slamming the “homophobes” (they’re freaks!), Canadian Press reporter JOHN MCKAY informs us:
…And straight viewers who tune in will see just how “normal” it all is: the bickering, the panicky moments and eventually the potent emotion of true love.
And making it all seem “normal” is the point. Make no mistake. This helps the gay ‘marriage’ cause and liberalism in general. Soon, it will be as “normal” as “Conservatives have a ‘hidden agenda’!”, and “taxpayer-funded abortions are a Canadian virtue!”.
“I just found that there’s always a bride and the wedding is always about the bride, and the bride is sometimes a man,” quips Scott Thompson, the former Kid in the Hall who hosts the show, which premieres June 1.
[…] “For people who don’t understand homosexuals, I think they’ll relate to that and go ‘Oh I get it.’ It’s all about balance between the yin and the yang and it doesn’t really matter what your genitals are,” he says.
[…] Thompson insists the show does not have a gay agenda, that the whole idea is just to tell good stories and entertain people, although he concedes good stories do have the power to change people’s minds.
“I think if you’re a real died-in-the-wool bigot and if you watch this show and come away from it going ‘Gay people are still the devil’ then I think you’ve got something wrong, you’ve got a lobe missing.”
The actor-comic also sees a perverse upside to homophobia, noting that in our pluralistic society, there’s very little to bind religions and ethnic groups together in a common cause. So gay people are the sacrifice.
“The one thing almost all religions agree upon is that homosexuals are bad.
“Most religions. . .are absolutely filled to bursting with homosexuals, and that’s what’s most tragic of all, is that most homophobia comes from people that won’t accept their own homosexuality. So when they’re attacking us, they’re attacking themselves.”
People like Thomson expect us bizarre Neanderthal non-gay people to understand gays and accept them and all their lifestyle choices in full. But apparently it isn’t important to even remotely understand us in the weird non-gay community. And it isn’t even remotely important that he completely misrepresents roughly half the people of the nation.
Arrogance and liberalism is the other new form of marriage in Mo Liberal Canada.
