Flat screen TVs contain gas 17,000 times more potent than CO2. Tax them! Ban them! (snarf)

Sorry media, but all your billions in re-tooling investment is now for not. And all you “man-made global warming” -concerned citizens:  better trash your new flat screen. Or voluntarily pay the government a few hundred bucks in carbon tax.  That’ll fix ya up and clear the air.

Plasma, LCDs blamed for accelerating global warming

A gas used in the making of flat screen televisions, nitrogen trifluoride (NF3), is being blamed for damaging the atmosphere and accelerating global warming.

Almost half of the televisions sold around the globe so far this year have been plasma or LCD TVs.

But this boom could be coming at a huge environmental cost.

The gas, widely used in the manufacture of flat screen TVs, is estimated to be 17,000 times as powerful as carbon dioxide.

“We don’t know what’s emitted, but what they’re producing every year dwarfs these giant coal-fired power plants that are like the biggest in the world,” he said. …

And any “man-made global warming” TV advertising or Al Gore TV telethons or “Rock the Environment” shows should now be banned too—or perhaps the responsible parties—all liberals—will simply stop using TV as a marketing method for anything they stand for to avoid the obvious hypocrisy.

And the state-owned CBC will simply acknowledge the science and admit it’s contributing to the “man-made global warming” and stop broadcasting as the responsible thing to do for the environment.

It’s “for the kids!”

It’s a “moral crisis!”

It’s an “emergency!”

The “debate is over!”

The “science is settled!”

Yadda!
