The Toronto Sun’s Lorrie Goldstein, with whom I nearly always agree, hits one nail on the head but misses another, methinks, in his “The terrifying reign of ‘da Boss’”, today.
As AdScam drowns the Liberals in a torrent of sleaze, many in the party are looking back fondly to the reign of Jean Chretien.
Chretien, they say, would never have allowed the sponsorship scandal to spiral out of control the way Paul Martin has.
Chretien, they say, would never have called a public inquiry.
Instead, he would have toughed it out, or handed the whole mess over to the RCMP and then refused to comment.
That so many Liberals buy into this belated Chretien worship shows the complete moral bankruptcy of their party.
That was your first clue to their moral bankruptcy? Mine was that this is a party that voted at their last convention to push for the legalization of prostitution; the legalization of pot-smoking; the party that officially supports (encourages?) abortions without any restriction at all whatsoever and ensures that by law, all abortions are all paid for by taxpayers in some twisted morally bankrupt Canadian “virtue” or exemplification of the Liberal brand of “Canadian Culture”; and the party that seems to support the destruction of the traditional Canadian family by legally redefining the term and encouraging parents to let the state raise their children in a state-run universal child indoctrination scheme; and the party that promotes the destruction of the traditional marriage by changing its definition to allow (encourage?) gay marriages.
Well those were some of my first clues. There’s others too but it’s Sunday.
