The Soviet-style state censor and regulator of what we’re allowed to watch on TV and listen to on the radio in Canada, and at what ratio of Canadian/U.S. content, and the bureaucracy responsible for deciding what folks are allowed to own or not own in broadcast media and telecommunications businsess, the liberals’ CRTC, has approved of the BCE plan to divest itself of its 68 percent ownership of Bell Globemedia. They will be left with only 20 percent.
BCE is the Bell in Bell Globemedia. Bell Globemedia owns the liberals’ CTV network and the liberals’ Globe and Mail among other things. I imagine the name will be changed to drop the Bell eventually.
The leftist Ontario Teachers Union’s pension fund, where I think Marxism rules the day but after 3:00 PM Monday to Friday eight or nine months per year, capitalism is OK with them as long as they benefit from it personally, will pick up 20 percent of BCE’s stake in Bell Globemedia with their public-sector union cash.
The far liberal-left Torstar (owner of the far-leftist Toronto Star) will also pick up 20 percent in this pre-arranged deal, for a total 40 percent stake between those two far leftist groups.
CRTC “commissioners” are appointed by the the state, of course, and all of the current “commissioners” were appointed by the Liberals.
CTV competes against the state-run media, the far-left CBC, which is also controlled by folks appointed by Liberals.
Have a nice day!
