Death of a moonbat Bush-hating film

The liberals’ state-run CBC is reporting what to them must surely be a disheartening tale of failure in the Bush Derangement Syndrome “arts” sector.  No no—they aren’t reporting about themselves.

Not only did the Bush-hating “Death of a President” movie fail in its opening weekend, but the Dixie Chicks’ Bush-hating “Shut Up and Sing” “documentary” was shown in only four theaters in its big opening.

There goes a good chunk of the anti-Bush media propaganda that was supposed to sway voters just in time for the mid-term elections.  Darn the luck.  Maybe it was a right-wing conspiracy or a “campaign” “mounted” by the right.

Death of a President flops at box office

The controversial film Death of a President suffered a potentially fatal blow at the North American box office over the weekend.

Death of a President earned only $282,000 US in its first weekend in limited release, averaging an estimated $1,970 per screen.

By comparison, the Dixie Chicks documentary Shut Up and Sing grossed $50,000 in just four theatres this weekend.

It’s a disappointing result for Newmarket Films, which reportedly paid $1 million for the U.S. distribution rights.

[…] A number of U.S. politicians, notably Senator Hillary Clinton, attacked the film before its North American release Friday.

“I think it’s despicable,” Clinton told the Contra Costa Times, referring to the film’s subject matter. “I think it’s absolutely outrageous. That anyone would even attempt to profit on such a horrible scenario makes me sick.”

Three of the largest theatre chains in the U.S. also refused to screen the film, and both CNN and NPR refused to accept paid ads for the film.

The film received a much better reception at the Toronto International Film Festival, with crowds lining up to see it. Director Gabriel Range’s work also took home the international critics’ prize and was praised “for the audacity with which it distorts reality, to reveal a larger truth.”

The film centres on the aftermath of Bush’s assassination and the impact on U.S. civil liberties.

Luckily for them, the liberals’ CBC Newsworld state news channel is able to provide us with what I see as wall-to-wall anti-Bush, anti-American, anti-conservative coverage on the liberals’ CBC this morning however, as ratings are utterly irrelevant to them.
