A Liberal Party MP, Dan McTeague, said, regarding the Conservatives’ good decision to not defend Canadian murderers who are on American death row (as well they should be):
”[We must] expose for Canadians the ideological bent of this party, which is an eye-for-an-eye, tooth-for-a-tooth. That’s completely inconsistent with where Canadians have been on this issue.”
Interesting. Can we use that “principle” moving forward? Let’s start now. Here’s part of an article from 2004:
OTTAWA (CCN)—Despite a recent Environics Focus Canada poll showing that 57 per cent of Canadians want human life protected after the first three months of pregnancy, the Liberal government is “unlikely” to introduce any measures to protect the unborn, says MP Dan McTeague (Pickering-Scarborough East), a Roman Catholic member of the Parliament Hill Pro-Life Caucus.
The latest annual poll on abortion, just released, suggests, once again, that the majority (67%) of Canadians support legal limits on the now limitless act of horror that liberals dub, in their Orwellian freakshow of unprincipled dogma, a “Canadian value” . But at least they don’t have an “ideological bent”.
EXTRA!
Here’s a favorite quote from (our!) Ann Coulter’s latest book (If Democrats Had Any Brains, They’d Be Republicans), which is actually a quote from her earlier best-seller Godless: the Church of Liberalism:
[Liberals complain that] we’re the only modern democracy with the death penalty. I think that should be treated as a selling point. “Come to the United States for the economic opportunity, stay because we fry our Ted Bundys!”
I completely agree.
