UPDATED WITH MORE MORE MORE! Holy H.W. Shi*%@$%^+!
Bush “Caught on tape”?! “Caught on tape”? Oh my.
In the midst of a serious war with innocent civilians being targeted by terrorists —around the world but in the middle east in particular — today CTV Newsnet channel managed to seize on the oh-so-atrocious uttering of an oh-so-naughty (naughty, I tell you) word by the plain-speaking President Bush today.
They ran an interview with an expert about the situation in Israel over this banner…
The banner alternated between that one and another one which actually informed us as to exactly what he said (ooh! I’m gonna tell my mommy!):
…and they ran a separate story which included text overlay so we couldn’t possibly miss it.
And they had another version of the story which had this banner on it:
Are you getting the idea now, folks?
But wait! And then just for good measure, they included a separately produced clip on their web site so we absolutely could not miss this matter of extreme importance even if there weren’t a global war on terror going on right this second. As terrorists lobbed rockets into Israel.
And as if they’re hooked on crack, they now have a poll running on their web site, that looks a little like this:

OK, children, here’s what was said:
Blair said to Bush: “See, if she (Rice) goes out she’s got to succeed as it were, where as I can just go out and talk.”
Bush replied: “See, the irony is what they need to do is get Syria to get Hezbollah to stop doing this shit and it’s over.”
And the ultimate irony is that Bush is dead right, said it more plainly than you’ll ever hear it, and despite the clarity, the media skirts past the issue and goes on ad infinitum about the fact that he said “shit” in confidence to his partner Blair.
Apparently the media isn’t interested in clarity, but rather in obfuscation and setting up straw men and red herrings—anything but praise Bush for being right, and for his clarity and honesty.
But at least they’re not petulant.
And by the way, the anchor and reporter Robert Fife both keep calling it “Izreeal” instead of Israel. Big stupidheads.
