No liberals, “exonerates” is not some fancy new sex move or position. It’s better! For example: “Martin exonerated”. “Chretien exonerated”. “We Liberals dint do nuttin’”.
Canada’s Liberals love that term. We’ll hear that term used by Liberals for the next 15 years.
But anyway, if I understand it correctly, this thing that Canada’s state news media CBC Newsworld is covering live in non-stop wall-to-wall coverage all day long today on the air and on their web site with repeated interviews and all manner of opinions from liberals and their own reporters, is about what I understand is the “federal” sponsorship “affair” (which should in no way be called “(anything)-GATE”, particularly anything “Liberal Party”-ish). And which if I understand correctly was something honorably established by the benevolent Liberal Party of Canada as a pure and altruistic measure in order to keep Canada together and strong and proud and yummy.
Apparently Justice Gomery was impartial, unlike our Canadian courts generally. Martin: “exonerated”. Chretien: “exonerated”. Unborn babies: not so much.

UPDATE:
State-owned CBC Newsworld anchor Suhana Meharchand just called it the ”Federal sponsorship scandal”.
