Even after the incessant, brutal, and notably petulant attacks by the liberal media since ten minutes after the election early this year, and even after making some of the toughest decisions and taking the most stridently determined stands on extremely controversial issues, the Stephen Harper Conservatives have managed to hold their popularity to election night levels, according to the latest reliable polling, which that night gave them and Canada the victory we needed for the Conservatives.
Of course the media sees this all as a negative. The Tories “slipped”, but only from the last poll taken in the story below, from the National Post. The Liberals “recovered”—from the last poll taken, and have made no gains (despite their shrieking and whining).
I did like how for the first time in recent memory, the you’ve got to be kidding party was described in this story as “leftist” New Democrats. If they can just get themselves to get a little more accurate and add “extreme leftist”, or “far-left”, or “socialist”, or “blunderhead” before “New Democrats”, we’ll start getting somewhere.
OTTAWA—Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s Conservatives have slipped in popular support to the level they garnered in January when they won a minority government, a poll released on Friday showed.
The SES Research survey put the Conservatives at 36 percent, down from 38 percent in its last poll in May and identical to what they won on January 23.
The Liberals recovered to 30 percent, again the same as in the election. In May they stood at 28 percent. The leftist New Democrats, who had 17.5 percent in the election, polled at 18 percent.
SES Research proved its mettle on election night, being the polling firm that predicted the outcome with absolutely amazing pin-point accuracy.
