Ward Churchill may be fired… by Nazis? Not sure.

In the ongoing Ward Churchill saga (Part 1 | Part 2), the university employing him as a professor has taken steps to possibly remove him from their faculty entirely.

Churchill was the professor who, after the 9/11 terrorist attack, described the World Trade Center victims as “little Eichmanns,” a reference to Adolf Eichmann, who carried out Hitler’s plan during World War II to exterminate Jews in Europe.  He said those who worked in the towers were all just as deadly.  They were, after all, working within a system geared toward making profits and such.  To a liberal-lefty, that’s identical to killing innocent Jews—children, old folks, you know, all of ‘em— in gas chambers.

I likened him to typical Canadian liberal-lefty moonbats who I’ve heard say the same things.  In fact they constantly take the time to email me to call me a “Nazi”.  I’m not sure what the connection is, exactly, but oh well!  I recently posted about a web site I found which likened this web site to Nazi-ness.  A gay ‘marriage’ group recently compared Christians to Nazis, and liberal-lefty Ted Turner of CNN fame recently called Fox News Channel a Nazi outfit.  It’s an epidemic!

No death threats directed my way so far as a result of my light-hearted comparison of liberal-lefties to Ward Churchill, so I’m thinking the Canadian liberal-left moonbat set is fine with that comparison.  Not that I’m inviting any death threats from those peace-lovers and freedom-of-speech lovers—after all, I obviously believe in peace and freedom—maybe even more so—since I’m a conservative right-winger.

Churchill was set to speak at the University but the event was canceled after Churchill received death threats and the event became a security nightmare. Peace and freedom advocates who believe in peace no matter what, had to be arrested for becoming notably unpeaceful as they noisily protested and disrupted the democratic process in which the issue was being freely debated among those in charge, thereby hindering their freedom to do so.

AURORA, Colo. – University of Colorado administrators Thursday took the first steps toward a possible dismissal of a professor who likened World Trade Center victims to a notorious Nazi.

Interim Chancellor Phil DiStefano ordered a 30-day review of Ward Churchill’s speeches and writings to determine if the professor overstepped his boundaries of academic freedom and whether that should be grounds for dismissal.

Also Thursday, the Board of Regents issued an apology for Churchill’s remarks at a meeting and voted to support the university’s review of Churchill.

The raucous meeting drew dozens of protesters who back Churchill; at least two were arrested for disrupting the meeting and another was led away in handcuffs.

[…] Gov. Bill Owens issued a written statement saying he deplored the behavior of some of the students at the meeting, and that their behavior underscored the “culture of violence” that can be spawned by essays such as Churchill’s.

Owens has called for Churchill’s firing.

[…] Earlier Thursday, the state Senate passed a resolution denouncing Churchill’s comments as “evil and inflammatory.” The nonbinding resolution was identical to one passed Wednesday by the House.

Democratic state Sen. Peter Groff cast the lone “no” vote, saying he disagreed with Churchill but that the resolution provides him with undeserved attention and attacks free speech.
