Good values are also being taught in some schools. No really!
A CAMBRIDGE [Ontario] teacher was fired yesterday after she pleaded guilty to having sex with a 14-year-old former student. Patricia Gaukrodger, 28, had been on leave, with pay, pending the outcome of the court case.
With the boy and his family looking on in a Cambridge courtroom, Gaukrodger folded her arms and shook her head slowly while she entered a guilty plea to a charge of sexual exploitation.
In an agreed statement of facts, Crown prosecutor Sharon Nicklas said several incidents of kissing, cuddling and mutual masturbation led to intercourse—in Gaukrodger’s office at St. Augustine Elementary School and elsewhere—by the fall of 2003.
[…] Gaukrodger, who is married, was pregnant when the most serious incidents took place. She gave birth to her first child early last year.
Court was told she befriended the boy and his family while working as his Grade 8 teacher during the 2002-03 school year.
[…] Gaukrodger went to the family home for meals, attended social events with them and began driving the boy to school.
She and the boy, then 13, also started chatting on the Internet.
The relationship continued after the boy, whose identity is protected by a court order, graduated from the school in 2003.
Kissing and cuddling at school and at the boy’s home progressed to masturbation and oral sex, and they agreed in Internet conversations that they “needed to be very careful.”
[…] While the rest of the family was at a social outing in September, court heard, Gaukrodger and the boy had intercourse in his bedroom. On five occasions later, they also had intercourse at the school.
As if Colin Farrell’s love scene with a male actor in “Alexander” didn’t cause him enough grief, now he’s filmed one with an underage girl. But looking to avoid the sort of furor that erupted over Nicole Kidman’s scenes with a young actor in “Birth,” the filmmakers reportedly have re-shot the scenes, toning them down.
Colin Farrell stars as American colonist John Smith in “The New World,” and 14-year-old Q’Orianka Kilcher plays Pocahontas. The flick is said to be slavish to period detail and the love scene between the two was “in good taste,” according to a defender, but when studio lawyers for the film saw an early cut, according to a report, “they nearly had a heart attack.”
“Farrell was told to get romantic and sensual but knew there was a certain amount of kissing involved,” a source told the British mag The People. “He played the scene brilliantly and he really put Q’Orianka at her ease. But when the lawyers saw the finished product with Colin and Q’Orianka rolling around on the ground kissing they just flipped out.” The lawyers were concerned about child-pornography laws, and a tamer version of the scene was reportedly re-shot.
They just really don’t get it, do they?
