I’m very pleased to let you know that Cinnamon Stillwell has agreed to join our team of columnists here at ProudToBeCanadian.ca.
We were first introduced to Cinnamon when she wrote a column in her home base newspaper, the San Francisco Chronicle, called The Making of a 9/11 Republican. I was so taken by it that I wrote a little something as well, and before we knew it, radio talk-show host Charles Adler, a friend of this site, read it and invited us both on his national radio show for an interview.
I had already posted that column as a Guest Writer’s column in the Columnist section but have now moved it into her own new featured writer space. It’s a great read! I’ll add more of her recent columns into her space later this weekend, and of course as she writes them.
Cinnamon is a rare conservative on the San Francisco Chronicle editorial team, so she can relate to how we conservatives are positioned here in liberal Canada—she used to be a liberal herself. Her insights will benefit us all, and we hope we can help extend her readership into new territory as well.
Here’s her bio:
Cinnamon Stillwell is a San Francisco Bay Area native who grew up in Marin County and graduated from San Francisco State University. A former liberal turned conservative, the events of 9/11 were the catalyst for her political transformation. She now writes a biweekly column for SFGate.com, the online arm of the San Francisco Chronicle, as well as being a columnist for Frontpagemag.com. A longtime contributor to ChronWatch.com, her articles also appear at Opeds.com, IntellectualConservative.com, IsraelNationalNews.com, and Jewish Press. She’s a regular guest on Sonoma station KSRO’s The Spencer Hughes Show, as well as doing other radio interviews and occasional speaking engagements. She lives in the East Bay with her husband of ten years and works from home.
