CBC bows to public pressure, pulls ‘Nazi’ image of Harper
Media analyst says Tory leader cartoon part of anti-Conservative bias at public broadcaster

Times & TranscriptOTTAWA – The CBC has buckled to public pressure and pulled an internet image cropped to make Conservative Leader Stephen Harper appear to be giving a Nazi salute.
Now the state-funded broadcaster is facing additional public criticism over an internet cartoon animation mocking Harper as “rigid, cold and completely devoid of life.”
The CBC Ombudsman’s office has received several emailed complaints from people upset the CBC would post the cartoon during the current, hotly contested election.
“We have received a few complaints,” said Laura Marshall, spokeswoman for the Ombudsman’s office. “We have sent them to the programmers, the people in charge of the website.”
Mary Sheppard, executive producer of CBC on-line, said she could not comment on the matter.
“You have to talk to our communications department,” said Sheppard.
CBC spokeswoman Ruth-Ellen Soles said the public did “not understand” that the CBC would be posting cartoons mocking all the party leaders.
“They felt: ‘why did we pick on Harper and not on anybody else?’ But that is part of our coverage,” said Soles. “We will have included all four leaders by the end of the campaign.”

What does the state-run media division of the liberal-left have any commentary about anything at all whatsoever? Ever? About anything at all ever? Why do we need an official “state opinion”?
What country is this again?
Why does the CBC even exist, and why in the world does the multi-million-dollar state-run CBC.CA people’s web site division of the liberal-left exist?
