Having now strayed as far away as possible from its pioneering spirit, Canadians have apparently now fully adopted the liberal-left’s nanny-state model for all of life itself. Children can’t be raised, now, without the state’s aid. Did you know that? I didn’t either. But it’s true.
The Liberals’ and NDP’s leftist welfare-state programs are in full gear and are finding a welcome audience among liberal Canadians. It’s working!
Now even all those “much needed” energy alternatives that all Canadians so desperately want in order to help quell that global warming and abide by our Kyoto agreements …can’t proceed without government grants, kickbacks, and aid packages of every description.
Conference calls for more financial incentives to expand wind energy
TORONTO (CP) – Speakers at the Canadian Wind Energy Association’s national conference have called on the federal and provincial governments to provide greater financial incentives to subsidize small-scale wind energy production.
Association policy adviser Sean Whittaker said a rebate program would encourage farmers, small businesses and communities to set up small wind turbines by offsetting the high capital costs.
“If you look at the United States and certain jurisdictions in Europe and the incentives that exist for small wind, there’s a number of rebates, buy-downs, production expenses, tax breaks and here in Canada we really have none,” Whittaker said.
“In order to really put in a place a really solid small wind market, those incentives have to be there.”
Name three industries—and citizens—that aren’t given government grants or aid of some description in Canada.
This state of affairs is the end-game for the liberal-left, this full dependence on the state by citizens, business, and organizations of every description, no matter what. It’s a real vote-getter for the liberal-left.
