In Canada today, at budget time and during elections, increased big-government spending of any kind—but mostly on social programs —is invariably treated as a positive in the media and by the leftist academics, and Canada’s political parties all race to outspend each other with our own taxpayer cash. That’s how unsophisticated and unrealistic Canadians (and Americans too) have become, after years of liberal-left yummy-sounding propaganda and indoctrination through the media, Hollywood, and all the state-run schools and colleges. And of course the liberal-left’s “world government”, the U.N.
Meanwhile, increased attention, policy initiatives, and spending on basic national security-related matters is treated with disdain, suspicion, bogus charges of “racism” and “racial profiling”, and “intolerance” and as an incorrect refutation of Canada’s liberal-left-induced, incoherent, wrong-headed, quixotic zeal for a quasi-sacred multiculturalist “mosaic”. “That ain’t liberal!”, we hear/read/see the liberals charging in all manner of the media and academia, since being obsequious to the liberal-left is now officially “job one” for every party in Canada today, the Conservatives apparently having all but given up the fight for what’s right in favor of what’s left. Liberals in the Liberal Party and the more overtly socialist socialists in the you’ve got to be kidding party call national security matters a “neo-con” or a “Bush bootlicker” syndrome; and the far-left state-run CBC obediently insinuates that it’s kowtowing to “the so-called war on terror”. Conservatives have fallen for it.
Committee urges airport security overhaul

The Department of Public Safety should take over airport security and conduct a daily search of every person working in proximity to planes because changes since 9/11 have been “few and far between”, says a Senate committee.
The all-party security and defence committee said Wednesday its damning four-year-old report calling for security changes had been met with “vagueness, obfuscation, non-response and seemingly endless procrastination” within government.
Now, the committee is urging that Transport Canada be relieved of its duties, and the onus of airport security be handed to the Department of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Canada.
“So many of the gaping security holes we drew attention to in 2003 are still gaping holes more than four years later,” the report states.
Committee chair Colin Kenny said it was not good enough that only 2 per cent of airport workers were subject to the same security searches that passengers faced every day.
“As we move away from Sept. 11, people don’t see the problem,” Mr. Kenny said in a news conference. “We worry that it’s going to take another bad event to cause people to refocus on this and we think that if the government starts to pay attention now, we can avoid that.”

The committee says the risk of hijackings has risen over the past years, as the number of police officers at airports declined drastically. The number of police officers at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport decreased from 290 in 1995 to 162 in 2005. Yet, passenger travel increased by over 3.3 million passengers in that period, the report says.
But why bother addressing stupid national security when there’s state-run daycare, and state-run women’s centers, and state-funded abortions and increasing funding for our decrepit leftist ideologically-driven and provably failed North Korean-style healthcare system, and state-funding for the state-run far-left media, —and of course countless billions for our sacred (or is that “evil”?) “carbon footprints” to worry about?
