According to the liberal readers of one of Canada’s liberal papers, Canada needs state-run media. They need the government to compete against its own citizens and balance what only the far-left fringe in this country could view as the “right-wing” biased news comin’ outta that dang CTV (which socialist see as “right-wing” simply by virtue of the fact that it ISN’T state-owned, Soviet Union-style).
OOPSIE! That CTV is owned by the exact same fellas as the Globe and Mail (Bell Globemedia). Well fancy that. Maybe the Globe and Mail readers would like to see a good state-run newspaper too. Kinda like Pravda. Liberals have in fact discussed this possibility in the recent past.
