Canada, actually

Once again, here are the latest top-20 TV rankings for Canada.  As always, we can see how Canadians make the choice to tune into American shows mostly, which, I think, is because they’re far better than most Canadian shows, despite the countless taxpayer subsidies, grants, loans, federal and provincial funding and breaks and allowances and other taxpayer funding of every description and encouragements and government hand-holding and appeasements of every description and molly coddling and the many government mandates, protections, regulations, and social engineering efforts to create just one good show or maybe two, and of course that still undefinable “Canadian Culture”, which they refuse to recognize is really just about the same as American culture.  (Of course we don’t really know for sure because the leftist nanny-state government know-it-alls still think it must create a Canadian culture for us, as in say, North Korea, rather than simply allowing Canadian culture to evolve organically… though they do so love the organic gardening and produce…)

Moreover, as always, we can see how Canadians tune into privately-owned broadcasters instead of the socialism-reliant, state-owned media (the CBC), including private broadcaster news, because private broadcasters are obviously providing what Canadians want, instead of what a bunch of socialist bureaucrats and liberal-leftist government know-it-alls think is best for us, i.e., that which is available on the dreadful waste of money and liberal-left, anti-conservative propagandizing BILLION-DOLLAR-PER-YEAR CBC, which aside from costing taxpayers a bundle, has the added disgrace of competing against private citizens in business for advertising dollars, viewers, profits, and audience, and against those citizens such as me and my web site PTBC, which exists to advocate reasonable, normal, politically conservative points of view in contradistinction to the CBC’s far-left political advocacy and left-wing columnists and reporters and their blogs and “special reports” and “documentaries” and “Passionate Eye[s]” and such (against which I’m forced to compete using my own money, against my own tax dollars, sort of like in Iran, or something).

And while I’m at it, here are the latest cable news rankings in the U.S. which I like to continue to present here because it shows how Fox News Channel (now unbanned in Canada) is by far the number one cable news channel in the U.S.

Live + Same Day Cable News Daily Ratings for March 19, 2009

P2+ Total Day
FNC – 1,300,000 viewers
CNN – 675,000 viewers
MSNBC –490,000 viewers
CNBC – 260,000 viewers
HLN – 349,000 viewers

P2+ Prime Time
FNC – 2,660,000 viewers
CNN—980,000 viewers
MSNBC –1,206,000 viewers
CNBC – 208,000 viewers
HLN – 718,000 viewers

In the prime time slots, the Fox News Channel shows all beat all of their competition, sometimes by double the numbers of all their competition combined

Canadians should all get Fox News Channel, now that it’s been unbanned in Canada.  Most Canadians who get it are shocked mostly by what they’ve been missing mostly insofar as balance in news —many Canadians not realizing that they’ve never actually heard conservatives’ ideas without the backdrop of incessant mocking, sneering, contempt, ridicule, or the snarky browbeating by eight liberal-leftist and conservative-hating opponents all piling on at once against the token conservative (and that’s just from the anchors and reporters).  Plus there’s the newfound enjoyment of news programming generally; the overall style of delivery, the personalities, and positive value in every which way.  Fox News actually seems to like America, and is on America’s side.  That’s one of the most striking and refreshing things.

Take my sincere advice and contact your satellite or cable provider and get Fox News Channel today.  You’ll wish you had earlier.
