Can we fire Paul Martin for being a do-nothing drain on taxpayers?

Why would we pay a fortune to someone who makes only rare appearances in the House of Commons?  I’m almost absolutely sure that I work twice as hard as failed Prime Minister Paul Martin and he makes more than me, thanks in part to me paying him more than I pay myself.  That’s a stupid arrangement!

He’s made a ton (that’s “tonne” for you Euroliberals) of tax-free cash through his daddy’s largely foreign-flagged ships in his multinational shipping company—and much cash from you and I the taxpayer over the decades that he’s been on the public payroll.  I hardly think he needs more of our cash, and we certainly don’t need him, particularly if he doesn’t even bother to show his face in the House of Commons.  Perhaps he thinks that’s all too “common” for an elite like him.  He is a Liberal, after all.

Add him to my list from yesterday of people who should resign (yesterday).

From today’s Canwest Global papers (serving the liberal-left community for over 20 years!):

OTTAWA – Former prime minister Paul Martin made a rare appearance Tuesday to level a sharp criticism of the Conservative government’s treatment of aboriginals.

The former Liberal leader now a backbench MP who is rarely present in the House of Commons took part in a high-level panel to examine the government’s refusal to sign a United Nations document recognizing the fundamental rights of aboriginals around the world.

Quite apart from that Paul Martin annoyance, I like how in this next part of the article, they mix the country, Russia, with “Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s Tories”:

Only Russia and Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s Tories who claim the declaration could conflict with domestic laws refused to sign on.

Guess that has the effect of really alienating “Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s Tories” as total outcasts and louts on the world stage, in that liberal reporter’s world view.  Good going, lib!

And this part tickled me too:

The panel, which included aboriginal and political leaders, said the government’s decision is a “stain” on Canada’s reputation in the world.

Liberals learned all about “stains” from President Bill Clinton, and they don’t want no part o’ that!  Otherwise, they’re quite alright about the fact that Canada’s aboriginal situation has improved not diddly-squat in all the years of totally wrong-headed liberal-left nanny-state rule in this country which served only to keep aboriginals down, rather than lift them up.
