…because in a modern liberal or “progressive” society, all events — whether they’re so-called “community” events or once were actual, pure “community events”, or, possibly soon, even grandma’s birthday, must be subsidized by the state, such that all life and all events and all functions of society will be fully or to one degree or another dependent upon the state, as soon as possible! It’s a core function of government to entertain the folks! In a modern liberal, “progressive” society!
And in North Korea too!
Vote liberal! (Or Liberal Party Too!)
Reader Matt B sends along this story, headlined “Bill Clinton to speak at CNE this month”. (For those who aren’t from Toronto, the “CNE” stands for Canadian National Exhibition):
Here’s a line or two from the article, which, as you read them, please simultaneously try to also adapt a version of our little game that we like to play here at PTBC…
The CNE will have some help from the federal government in staging the event. The Ex is set to receive a grant from the Marquee Tourism Events program.
…Bednar declined to comment on how much money the CNE would receive from the program, pending an announcement from the government on Monday.
Clinton’s last Toronto appearance was May 29, where he participated in a moderated discussion with fellow former president George W. Bush at the Metro Convention Centre. That event cost between $250 and $2,500 per ticket.
The event co-starring George Bush was not subsidized by taxpayers, nor should it have been.
The liberals’ extremely “progressive” Toronto Star is one of the “media partners” of the CNE.
