Our latest column by Barbara Kay is now posted at PTBC in the columnist section. It speaks of honour and morality, Prince Harry, and the war in Iraq.
Here’s a tiny snippet:
Our elites usually avoid the word [honour], but even when they do use it, rarely have any idea what it actually means: Last December, Stéphane Dion said Canada should negotiate the withdrawal of our troops from Afghanistan “with honour,” but in fact, properly interpreted, he meant “dishonour.”
Coincidentally, our William D. Gairdner’s latest which is also now posted, speaks of “moral renewal” in Canada, and serves up what I think is a very good starting point for all actual conservatives and thinkers who actually seek to foster change in our country for the better. For fun, relate it to my own March 25 column called “Turning Canada conservative means leading them that way”; and my blog entry from just yesterday, in which I said (with regard to the latest poll showing the Liberals once again on top):
”…It would require resolute leadership skills and effort from actual conservative politicians and the actual civilian conservatives in Canada to lead the country right and convince folks that right is in fact right. It means saying things that don’t sound popular or fun at first, and which will get you booted off the fancy cocktail circuit. And damn. That’s work…”
