Hat tip to a reader, Victor, who informed me of this when it was fresh, but I was too busy to deal with it!
Thomas Hubert, the party’s youth leader in British Columbia, has apologized and resigned after writing on his blog:
“One man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter … History will remember Hezbollah as an organization that stood up to the most vile ‘nation’ in human history.”
“The most vile nation in history”. That’s Israel, according to this Liberal Party executive council member. Note the quotes around nation.
His blog now opens with this page:
…which at least isn’t the writing typical of a savage Neanderthal ass.
According to a former Liberal advisor and now Liberal blogger, Warren Kinsella, Hubert also wrote this on yet another Liberal blog:
Certainly other liberals think precisely the same thing. And it seems to me the further left you go, the more prevalent that sort of sentiment. And yet these are the people who would have us believe they’re the “tolerant” ones. The “compassionate” ones. The ones who are all about the “multicultural”. The “intelligent, nuanced thinkers”.
One can only imagine what these people think in private, and what they say to each other when nobody else is listening.
Vote liberal. Get more of that.

I did some more reading at a liberal blog where Hubert had done some thinking out loud and found another remark that stood out for me. Several of his erstwhile fellow liberals and Liberals had questioned his adherence to the liberal cause, and he answered with this:
“I am a “real” Liberal. I am currently VP of Communications for the Young Liberals of Canada in BC. If you don’t believe me, you can telephone me.
I’m going to go out on a limb here and bet that his phone is off the hook, much like his level of tolerance and intellect. And I fully accept that he is a “real” Liberal anyway—no need for that phone call.
