(Hat tip to John) This, according to the story at CFRA radio’s web site.
The story at the state-run web site, CBC.ca, reports it as if they were sprung free by ether. They make no mention of American troops (nor even British or Canadian help) rescuing the Canadians. They “were freed in a morning raid north of Baghdad.” That’s it. Who cares who risked their lives to free them? They were only Americans!

Thursday, March 23, 2006It appears that Canadians played a role in the release of three Christian peace activists earlier today in Baghdad.
Canadians Jim Loney and Harmeet Sooden, along with Briton Norman Kember, were freed in a daring raid by coalition forces in western Baghdad early this morning.[…] British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw paid tribute to the Coalition and Iraqi forces and civilians who played a role in the intelligence and rescue operation, including Canadian personnel he met on his last trip to Baghdad. Canada’s foreign affairs department hasn’t commented.
The operation to rescue the three began at 5 a.m. local time, and the three were safe inside Baghdad’s heavily-guarded Green Zone by 8 a.m. American military officials say the raid was staged 36 hours after they received critical information on the hostages’ whereabouts from two Iraqi detainees.
