I try to convey to Canadians the reality of things rather than the Liberal-Left view of things which is inevitably a lie (“we’ve got the best healthcare…”, “Canada leads the world in… everything…”, “Canada HAS a military…”, “gay ‘marriage’ is a human right…”, “abortion is GOOD for babies because mother decided what was best…”)
But Canadians are team players. They root for their liberal team no matter what. No matter how much money is stolen from them, no matter how corrupt they are, no matter how many times they’re lied to.
That’s why America is ahead of Canada in most of the important ways. Americans—despite the outside influences of liberal media and academia and activist liberal judges, don’t fall for the lies as easily as Canadian liberals do.
POLL: YANKS ‘SLICK’ AND TIRED OF U.N.
By DEBORAH ORIN
February 22, 2005—The United Nations is paying a high price for such scandals as the oil-for-food mess, as 42 percent of Americans now have a negative view of the world body while just 37 percent rate it favorably, a new poll shows. The poll also suggests that the United Nations’ image could get worse, since those following the scandals closely hold a far more negative view — and a whopping 63 percent want Secretary General Kofi Annan to quit.
Among those following the scandals closely — a bit more than half — 72 percent think Saddam Hussein used the oil-for-food program to bribe such nations as Russia and France, according to the Rasmussen Reports poll.
And 68 percent think bribery by Saddam explains why some nations oppose the U.S.-led Iraq war that toppled him.
The United Nations’ sagging image could have U.S. political fallout, since Democrats, including 2004 presidential nominee John Kerry, tend to be more supportive of the world body than are Republicans.
The poll of 1,000 Americans was conducted Feb. 13-16 — before the resignation’s of the U.N.‘s refugee chief Ruud Lubbers over sexual-harassment charges.
