Never mind what it’s actually called. That sometimes doesn’t matter. Like now.
As I’ve mentioned over and over, the state-run cable “news” network (CBC “News”world) apparently hesitates to call the war on terror what it actually is—preferring the much watered-down and liberal-induced politically correct ”so-called war on terror”, because (I think!) it pretends that “war on terror” is politically tendentious and inaccurate. I think that actually, it is war on terror denier-lingo favored by liberals (and hopefully it’s good and anti-Bush sounding!), and that’s why they use that.
They also call Islamofascist terrorists “insurgents” and “fighters” for the same reason, I think; and apply monikers to the Liberal Party’s adscam sponsorship political corruption scandal such as “the federal sponsorship affair”.
But they have no hesitation in calling the (erstwhile) “federal government’s” big new climate regulations and strategy (which the government itself calls its “Turning Point strategy” or simply its effort to “fight pollution and climate change”) —the “Tory Green Plan”.
“Tory”. “Green”. How accurate and ever so apolitical, liberals!
It’s not a “federal climate strategy”, it’s a “TORY GREEN PLAN”
Now I do understand the need for the agenda-driven liberals who run that place to emphasize the “Tories” rather than the “federal government” as they do in the case of the Liberal Party’s adscam sponsorship corruption scandal, because they think this climate announcement is a governing party negative, and the governing party is “the Tories”; and I can even see where they’d possibly even love to promote the Green Party in a favorable light since they’re all about the green with their daily 800 times-per-day and ever so handy “green tips” (instead of using your dryer, dry your clothes outside on a clothes line, Canadians!). But nothing can explain away the fact that suddenly, they’re all about politicizing the thing and calling something exactly what it is not, for what I see as purely political reasons.
As if by magic, the liberals’ CTV Newsnet is calling it exactly the same thing.
It’s a “TORY GREEN PLAN”!
